“Hugging a Friend”
This is one of my favorite pieces from the show, and strangely enough the original, as well as prints are still available.
The entire collection from “Just Like Us” is now online at Gallery1988.com, where you can purchase prints & originals.

:) I need a hug

This was commissioned by Nick Offerman (and others), as a wrap gift for the entire cast & crew at Parks & Recreation. Really happy with how it came out, and stoked to be doing more work for those guys, I love um!

Awesome! Knope 2012

Update. This is for an art competition that I’m entering.  The name of the piece is called “Read the Sign.”  It shows a kid stopping to look at a stop sign, while everyone else ignores him and the sign.  I was inspired to make this piece one day when I saw someone run through an intersection that had a stop sign.  The point I’m trying to make is that some of us are lost and will not find our way in life no matter what the signs say, life is full of warnings and it’s up to us whether or not we want to stop and step back and see whether or not we are headed in the right direction, also “read the sign”  sounds the same as ”redesign”  because when you are redesigning you are changing your course of action..thus the meaning of signs, they make you stop and think about what’s ahead…I’ll upload a scanned copy of this later..

I love it. This guy gives me hope that good 2-D animation in that old-school Disney style can come back :) Check out the rest of his amazing work on his blog!

Hehe the directors I love from The Pixar Story:

John Lasseter (Toy Story 1, 2; A Bug’s Life; Cars 1, 2) - The OG, the head honcho, the one who started it all. Look at his desk!!!

Pete Docter (Monsters, Inc.; Up) - The only one so far to create this adjacent fantasy world of monsters (my favorite kind of world). Then he became the first to make me abandon all pretense and weep in the first act.

Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo; WALL-E) - He made the ocean and outer space look amazing. He also made me fall in love with a sea turtle named Crush. That is probably why he’s my favorite.

Brad Bird (The Incredibles; Ratatouille) - The outsider, the best out of the four in my experience because both of his films have ONE MOMENT where I, without fail, tear up with emotional overload. EVERY DAMN TIME, no matter how many times I’ve seen them, and I’ve seen Ratatouille A LOT. These moments are:
1)When Helen Parr, on the plane with Dash and Violet and missiles homing in, yells on the radio, “Abort, abort, there are children aboard, say again, there are children aboard this plane!” and that scene cut to Mirage’s face. *EMOTION*
2)When Anton Ego takes a bite of ratatouille and the camera zooms into his eyes and his memory as a little boy in the doorway, crying because he fell off his bike, and his mother makes him feel better with some ratatouille. *TEARS*

OK guys, For the next 8 weeks, I will be putting up a different print for super sale! The only catch is that after the week is up, the print will no longer be available on sirmitchell.com ever again!
The first print up is The Masked Mallard.
I will also be giving one away for free to a random person who reblogs this. For those who are into that sort of thing.

Omggg I used to watch this show all the time. And the theme song. 90’s cartoons had the best theme songs. “Let’s… get… dangerous”

Little Wheel - play
This is a really quick game found through Adult Swim. I love the jazzy background music! And the art style… steampunk-ish? It reminds me of the Lemony Snicket movie. And the whole vibe reminds me of Hotel Dusk: Room 215. High school gaming - good times.
